About the partners

CDRI

CDRI, founded in 1990 in Québec City, is a not-for-profit research institute accredited by the Government of Québec as a university entity eligible for R&D tax credits. Through its Canadian International e-Mobile Healthcare Consortium (CIE-MHCC), it connects clinicians, academia, government and industry to integrate oral health into the wider health system, including clinical trials. Its flagship Accredited Digital Dental Prescription (ADDRx) Certification Mark digitizes four linked stages of care: diagnosis and treatment planning, prescription, laboratory workflow and clinical verification.

Bloqcube

Bloqcube®, founded in 2017 in Piscataway, New Jersey, is a pioneer in blockchain-based eClinical software for clinical trials. Its modular platform, enhanced by agentic AI, records critical data in a cryptographically secured, tamper-evident form and automates workflows. The platform includes eConsent, an electronic trial master file (eTMF), electronic data capture (EDC), a clinical trial management system (CTMS), real-time dashboards and C2TA, Bloqcube’s clinical trial finance module. Bloqcube is a four-time Prix Galien “Best Startup” nominee.

The Canadian Dental Research Institute (CDRI) and Bloqcube® Inc. are pleased to announce a strategic collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding, to extend Bloqcube’s AI-enabled, blockchain-driven platform into CDRI’s ADDRx Certification Mark initiative. The aim is to bring secure, verifiable digital records to every step of a dental patient’s care, advancing equity and trust in oral health. In doing so, the partners will build robust knowledge mobilization and implementation tools for all dental care stakeholders: patients, clinicians, payers and regulatory bodies.

The collaboration will apply Bloqcube’s technology to the dental patient journey. Each hand-off, from the dentist to specialist referrals and the dental laboratory, and back to the chair, will be captured as a secure, time-stamped record, so that what was planned and prescribed can be confirmed as what was delivered. AI-enabled tools will help clinicians and laboratories spot gaps, reduce errors and cut administrative delays. The goal is that every patient, wherever they are treated and however their care is funded, benefits from the same transparent and verifiable standard of care, with privacy built in from the outset.

The collaboration also strengthens oral health research in Canada. As Bloqcube joins CDRI’s CIE-MHCC, its clinical trials platform will become available, through CDRI’s network, to oral health researchers and health institutions across Québec and Canada, supporting secure, efficient and well-documented clinical studies.

The program will advance in phases: aligning objectives and mapping clinical and laboratory workflows; piloting and refining the solution in a sandbox environment; and, with additional ecosystem partners, a staged implementation across Canada, the United States and other key markets.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to raising the standards of dental care by uniting clinical research expertise with trusted digital infrastructure, with benefits that extend well beyond the clinic.

In their words

“In the evolving landscape of data integrity, security, privacy and patient-centricity, this partnership will provide a next-generation solution for the journey of dental patients, leveraging current evidentiary standards to improve the overall quality of dental care. These approaches could also be useful for State/Province and other regulatory authorities involved in managing this space.”
Dr. Prem K. NarangChief Scientific Officer, Bloqcube® Inc.
“Oral health is inseparable from overall health, yet the dental patient journey still depends on fragmented hand-offs between clinic and laboratory. ADDRx was created to accredit and digitize every step of that journey. With Bloqcube, we add a layer of verifiable trust, so every patient can be confident that the care planned for them is the care they receive, while generating robust, secure, open-source data repositories for knowledge mobilization and implementation.”
Dr. Hubert GaucherChief Executive Officer, Canadian Dental Research Institute (CDRI)
“Equity in health care begins with trust in the record. Extending Bloqcube’s secure infrastructure to dentistry makes every prescription, laboratory step and clinical verification transparent in real time. Together with CDRI’s ADDRx Certification Mark model, we can help ensure that the quality of dental care depends on evidence and data integrity, not on circumstance.”
